why we do what we do...
To learn how to play an instrument is to learn a lifelong skill that will entertain, challenge, and push oneself. As musicians, playing our instruments means so much more than just creating music. It has given us a way to creatively express ourselves, expand our knowledge and expertise, and connect with a community of like minded individuals. Previous and ongoing experiences of band have left us with countless, cherished memories. It is the hope of Hearts in Harmony to share this experience with other student musicians.
Hearts in Harmony collects, reconditions, and donates used musical instruments for underprivileged students who otherwise would not be able to afford one. Since establishment, we have donated over fifty musical instruments. We also offer free music lessons for any young musicians who are interested. In the past, Hearts in Harmony has helped to preserve the music and arts programs of Buena Middle School and Smithville Elementary School. To be successful, our main focus is not only to donate as many instruments as possible, but to impact as many lives as possible and spread the love of music.
